Environmental Education

The Allamakee County Conservation environmental education staff are here to help you and your students, group, business, or organization learn more about Iowa's natural resources.  Whether it be a program about a specific topic or a trip to a park, we are here to help you experience the outdoors and learn more about our natural world!

Whether you are a kid, parent, or grandparent, student or teacher, scout or scout leader, homeowner, business owner or natural resources professional, The Conservation Foundation  provides engaging and empowering educational programs led by knowledgeable and experienced  educators.

Our education programs are led by Ross Geerdes, Allamakee County Conservation's Naturalist. He has a wide range of educational programs: from visiting classrooms, to operating summer camps, adult programs, to leading outdoor adventures all across our county.

All public educational programs can be found on our calendar.

Have any questions or wondering about anything related to our educational programs or about our wildlife resources in Allamakee County, please contact Ross Geerdes to answer any of your questions at or the by phone at 563-586-2996.
