How to Help and Volunteer

A volunteer is someone who freely gives time, energy and talents to others. Giving can be one of the most rewarding experiences in life. Volunteering has a positive effect on your community AND yourself.

 

The Allamakee County Conservation Board offers positions for adults, teens, youth and families. There is a wide range of volunteer opportunities available. One can work on a regular basis, on a one-time project, or work outside or inside.

Vision

The Allamakee County Conservation Foundation (ACCF) believes volunteer work is very important to the success of the foundation. Our goal is to enhance the of environmental education and conservation    awareness

within the county and its surrounding communities by
bring in dedicated volunteers that can promote environmental awareness among county residents
and visitors.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

With the Driftless Area Education and Visitor Center construction still ongoing our volunteer program will not start until the center is complete. The upcoming center taking tangible form, so is our volunteer program. We are currently taking down names of those who would like to volunteer in our upcoming center. If you would like to volunteer at the Driftless Area Education and Visitor Center, please contact the ACCB office.

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Maintain  The Centers Operations
  • Direct Visitor Center Calls And Providing
  • Information To  The Public
  • Operate  The Cash Register And Stock The Bookstore/Sales Area
